Looks like we’re going after another QB:
John Richt, the 16-year-old son of the Georgia coach, has received his first scholarship offer — from Clemson.
Richt–John not Mark–is described as having a “big arm and a good pocket presence” who probably isn’t going to do a whole lot of running.
Help me out here. What are some examples of a kid with D-I talent with a D-I coach? Especially at a big time program?

CUTigers.com has learned that Gaffney QB Malcolm Long is now drawing significant interest from the Clemson Tigers, as well as several other schools.
“Right now I’m hearing a lot from Clemson and Wake Forest,” Long told CUTigers.com. “My one offer is from S.C. State but some other teams are starting to show me a lot of interest.”
Long, who was instrumental in leading Gaffney to a state championship last year, says he’s been working extremely hard this off-season to improve his game, and it now appears that hard work is finally starting to pay off.
One coach in particular has started to take notice- Clemson offensive coordinator Rob Spence.
“I’ve been working a lot and it started showing at Clemson’s 7-on-7 camp this summer. I’ve been working hard since last year on my accuracy and my pocket presence,” he said. “Both of those aspects of my game are starting to improve a lot and coaches are starting to see that.”
Long also said he could be looking to commit early if the right scholarship offer comes his way.
“You can say that Clemson is my leader right now,” he said. “If they offer me then I would probably commit there. I’m probably not going to go on any (unofficial) visits until the season gets started but I will visit Clemson some this year.”
An athletic quarterback, the 6-foot-2 inch, 205-pound Long has been clocked in the 4.6 range in the 40-yard dash.
