100 DAYS!
under 100 days left until we gather once again to cheer the Tigers off to an expected great season. As I sat around today, I thought of the stadium and it’s environment and what I enjoyed most about being in Death Valley with 90,000 of my closest friends and what got the crowd motivated. Besides the given TD’s, sacks and other great plays, the PA system came to mind. Now don’t get me wrong, nothing beats that first blare of the brass into the orange bowl march for Tiger Rag as the Tigers assemble at the top of the hill, but the PA system has shown it’s potential in the past few years.
The #1 example I have for this is when the defense is on the field. I think the PA system has one of the greatest effects on the crowd when the Tiger D comes on the field. The directors in the booth did a great job selecting AC/DC’s Hells Bells as the intro. I get chills when I think of that night Miami game in the 4th quarter when the intro bells peeled over the PA system and how the stadium exploded as the defense sauntered onto the field.
I hope that the PA directors keep up the good work as they are the audio adrenaline for the fans. A Pavlovian training exercise in reaction if you will. And if they fail, I once more must recommend that Shoeless Works get the nod to run the JumboTron and PA system.
What are your thoughts on the PA system and what they should play. After watching the Miami game it was evident and immediately dealt with that rap and hip hop would be removed as it only motivated the players of both teams and not the fans. One song I would like to hear in some occasion would be Saliva’s Click Click Boom, that’s a good start to a song.

Gettin’ a little generous with the seating capacity I see.
I don’t care much for music to be pumped in. But AC-DC is a pretty good way to go. On the other hand, I quickly grew tired of Click Click Boom. I heard it too often too fast and I got real sick of it.
Have you heard Iron Maiden’s Live After Death album? It starts off with an except from Churchill’s speech during WWII -
“We shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches. We shall fight on the landing grounds. We shall fight in the fields, and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills. WE SHALL NEVER SURRENDER!”
That would be pretty cool just before the Tigers run down the Hill.
that would be sweet!
