The Shell Game
Hey! Clemson is 3 and 3 in a season that they were ranked 9 coming in and projected to have the ACC championship in pocket after the first game.
No no no don’t pay attention to that….in fact, look at this pretty new plan. We are going to play our shiny backup quarterback that “everyone” has been screaming for. Never mind that the offensive line isn’t changing. Also, don’t mind the fact that the offensive coordinator is still driving the offense. In fact, while you are at it, never mind the fact that the driving thought of the change in QB is that the younger can scramble like the dickens (which, if you weren’t paying attention happens alot with that offensive sieve).
So, what happens when the golden child fails. It is not his fault but my money is on the odds that its a big “I told you so, now I am putting the veteran back in”. And if Korn leads the Tigers to victory against the yellow jackets, well just give the bye week a chance for the rest of the teams time to figure out how to handle the new Clemson option offense and see what happens.
I hope that the Tigers win out, and hate the Tommy has thrown Cullen under the bus so many times to get to this point as he is a good leader and player when healthy (hey…..didn’t we see that enough with Whitehurst and his shoulder?).
And what if Clemson wins out? Where is the coaching story then? In my mind it’s a shell game and the fans are just getting temporary blinders until it all falls down again. Like the article says: THIS IS NOT THE ANSWER.
