2009 Clemson Football Schedule
The 2009 schedule has been released.
Sept. 5 Middle Tennessee
Sept. 10 at Georgia Tech (ESPN)
Sept. 19 Boston College
Sept. 26 Central Michigan
Oct. 3 at Maryland
Oct. 17 Wake Forest
Oct. 24 at Miami
Oct. 31 Coastal Carolina
Nov. 7 Florida State
Nov. 14 at NC State
Nov. 21 Virginia
Nov. 28 at South Carolina
Update 2/12/09 2:40 PM: My initial thoughts:
On the upside, none of these teams is particularly frightening. The best team we play based on last year’s results was only 9-4 FSU who was only 5-3 in conference.
On the downside, the conference sucked last year and we weren’t anywhere near the top of it.

Helmet Schedule?
There are two “tough” stretches here, at Maryland, Wake and Miami and then FSU, at NC State and Virginia, although there will be added pressure for the BC game if we lose to GT. It’s a manageable schedule, I think.
Let the pontification begin.
Best case, 8-4 . . . worst case 5-7. Probably 7-5 with losses to GT, BC, MD, UM, and FSU.
Looks like a doable schedule, though possible lossed to GT on thursday night (our curse), FSU, Miami, & an improved NCSU team are going to be our down turn
Sept. 5 Middle Tennessee Win (gimme)
Sept. 10 at Georgia Tech Loss (GT, away, Thurs night)
Sept. 19 Boston College Win (home, BC will be down, coaching turmoil)
Sept. 26 Central Michigan Win (gimme)
Oct. 3 at Maryland Loss (away, better than last year)
Oct. 17 Wake Forest Win (home, Wake will be down)
Oct. 24 at Miami Win (tigers always play big there, Miami still sucks)
Oct. 31 Coastal Carolina Win (gimme)
Nov. 7 Florida State Loss (FSU is better than us period.)
Nov. 14 at NC State Loss (road game, much improved State team)
Nov. 21 Virginia Win (cake)
Nov. 28 at South Carolina Win (gimme)
8-4
C’mon people. This is Clemson football we are talking about. Let’s all get fired up for 9-3 expectations with our blinders on to the gapping holes somewhere in line-up. I see too many way to predicataable outcomes above. It’s Tiger and College Football. Random off teh wall crap happens. We beat GT at their house on Thursday then let Central Michigam sneak up.
I like the way you think.
Things I like about the 2009 team. The OL seems to be strong, Using Redick Taylor for short yardage should be a good idea, C.J. Speller and Jacoby Ford should be productive, and there is new talent at wide out. Palmer at TE should be productive. Dabo adds 7 points a game to this team. If the Defensive unit will not allow 14 points a game we should win the ACC. I believe it, now all we have to do is get the team to believe it. It is time for Clemson Football to believe in itself like Alabama or Florida. By the way my pick for QB is Mr. Parker. A few games under his belt should provide all that he needs. Lets give him the chance.
