A Powder Keg of Fury
Message boards are exploding with misery and execution calls for the head coaching career at Clemson. Meanwhile The National Coaches Hot Seat is being closely monitored and analyzed. As with Walker, I have been a Bowden supporter and have had faith that he is what Clemson needed to get to that next level. He led Clemson to bowl games consistently, recruited the good kids and increased the talent annually. He even had the snake oil to get the West Zone built. Sadly though, everything that he has asked for and said that Clemson is lacking is now in his posession and still the Tiger faithful continue to get the “Clemson is still behind the FSU’s of the world” speeches and roller coaster ride seasons. I am not saying that Tommy needs to go, he is too valuable off the field in my mind to lose. Also, until someone can answer who else is out there (and NO, Cowher is NOT coming to Clemson or any University for that matter) I will not call for Tommy’s head. IPTAY is still selling tickets and players are still coming to Clemson. So until the boycot of tickets forces the admins to do something, or some coach that is better on paper than Tommy comes around, Clemson will have to live through what they have become used to: Seasons that will never turn out the way that they think they will.

The solution is simple, promote TB to AD. Trade him to the dark side for Levon, The Judge, and a Head Coach replacement to be named from his staff.
I’m pretty much waiting for the end of the season to render a verdict in the ongoing Bowden trial because, who knows, something crazy could happen.
As for the preseason prognostication, I am somewhat proud of myself for correctly picking all 6 games to date.
This one still hurts though.
Our projections as a group are freakishly accurate. I hate it when were right like that. Sadly, we don’t even get paid for this. Wonder what people see and know about us, that do this for a living? Especially now that it’s unfolded in front of them for a few weeks.
I was reading the predictions after hyperlinking it last night and was thinking the same thing. At the time that I wrote mine, I was dreading it if it came true. Damn the luck.
Future Clemson Head Coach Paul Johnson is on ESPN right now. Navy is doing a heckuvajob against Pitt.
Paul Johnson and I have one thing in common. We won’t be coaching the Tigers anytime soon. I could do a decent job at pissing off /firing up the players before they step on the field though.
There is also the possibility of waiting to buy the contract out for ~$500,000(?) at the end of next season while lining up a successor then. That would give the AD one solid year to figure out the next coach, save a lot of money and not totally destroy recruiting for that season.
If we keep TB I think we will all end up catching TWS, Tommy West Syndrome, next year.
