Addressing an iss-Hoo
Get it…..issue, but I put Hoo in place of the, oh never mind.
ANYWAY!!
On opening day of their football season against (the real) USC, The University of Virginia unveiled their new athletics drive known as The Power of ORANGE. This program was instituted to encourage fans and alumni alike to embrace their former minor color of Orange instead of their common navy blue. The program was not only a “wear an orange shirt” deal, it incorporated a flag raising by a famous UVA alum which you can see the first one on the linked page. Also something about the color representing blah blah blah. Yeah Clemson already has that…..we call it SOLID ORANGE!!
As Clemson fans, and as we will be heading to their stadium this season, we need to stop this! We are the dominant Orange team in the ACC. Miami has their green and white, VTech has their Maroon and UVA has their blue. When did UVA decide that embracing the color that most humans do not find appealing to be a good idea. Hmm, seemed to work well for Clemson and their Solid Orange campaign. Or maybe they are just trying to find something that will get the fanbase back together for athletics.
Sorry UVA, Clemson is Orange and Orange is Clemson. You can not fabricate the pride that Clemson athletes, students and alum take in wearing the color and you can not just go and make it your primary color after so many years of playing the blue with orange card.
Step off……there is only one Orange in the ACC.
And Clemson, you can use that as a slogan.

Thank you for the final qualifying statement. UT (both of them) have pretty strong stakes to the color as well. They don’t have candy ass fan bases that need motivated though the modification and use of another schools marketing program though. Further proof that UVA screats large areas of low pressure.
Crayola does not recognize the “orange” that Tennessee uses in their university colors. Excuse me if I don’t either…..unless it is neon carrot. If so, then I will recognize UT as the neon carrots of Tennessee
Never, never, never will I acknowledge UVA as an orange school. While it is in their color scheme, they are not allowed to wear, act, or be Orange. Solid Orange. Go Tigers. Out
At least this proves UVa to show their true colors - as a bunch of wannabes…
You guys have a deficient sense of history about the ACC. UVA has only worn predominantly navy in the past ten to fifteen years at the most. They always used to wear orange jerseys with solid white helmets. Miami’s green is also fairly new. They made their living in the 80’s with orange jerseys.
Sometimes we can’t let the truth get in our way…
Although, hopefully, their return to orange will return them to their historic insignificance.
