Almost Time For a Dog and a Cold One.
It’s almost that time of year. No, I’m not talking about Christmas. Right around the corner is one of my favorite times of year. The look of a freshly cut outfield, the smooth red clay, the crack of the aluminum bat and the girls in sun dresses on a beautiful spring afternoon are almost here. After a slightly disappointing fifth place finish in the 2006 NCAA baseball season the Tigers are ranked yet again. According to this article Clemson is bringing up the preseason number two spot. Making things interesting this season are our friendly chickens to the south, ranked at number three. That’s not all folks, as if the ACC did not want to dominate only basketball in the nation, we’re taking control of the national baseball stage too. Six ACC teams are ranked in the top 13 preseason this year. Can we say powerhouse conference boys and girls? I for one can not think of a better way to get out of the Winter rut than relaxing in right field with my Gnome friends, a burger, and a cold beer. I love the Spring and we have a great one ahead of us.
