Another roller coaster win

So the Clemson Tigers continued their campaign for the ACCCG with a strong win over the FSU Seminoles. As they did, more records fell and depth was realized throughout the team.

via TigerNet with my comments in bold:

*C.J. Spiller’s first quarter reception gave him 106 in his Clemson career, a Tiger record for running backs.
F a record, CJ spent most of the night breaking his OWN records.

*Richard Jackson’s missed extra point on Clemson’s first quarter touchdown broke a streak of 116 consecutive for the Tigers. They had not missed an extra point since the 2006 Music City Bowl.
paging Jad Dean…..Jad Dean….please leave the field. WTF was going on with Jackson?! Did he get shot down by his girlfriend in a proposal like Dean did that horrible year? That HAS to get resolved and quick. The Tigers left 9 POINTS ON THE FIELD WITH THAT CRAP!!!

*Kyle Parker’s first quarter touchdown pass to Dwayne Allen was his 11th of the season, a Clemson record for a freshman quarterback. With a second quarter completion to Jacoby Ford, he also broke the Clemson yardage record for a freshman quarterback. The 19-yard gain gave him 1558 this season, breaking Charlie Whitehurst’s record of 1554.
That’s right, Parker is breaking Whitehurst records…..Whitehurst was making these records WITHOUT a CJ Spiller or a James Davis in the backfield as a freshman! You also have to be excited that Parker will have the Spiller heir apparent, Andre Ellington, as well as Jamie Harper in the backfield for the next few years.

*The two-point conversion by C.J. Spiller in the second quarter was the first of his illustrious Clemson career.
Hey look, we found something CJ hasn’t done yet…..oh wait, scratch that, he did it

*Spiller’s 58-yard, third quarter touchdown catch was the 20th play of 50 yards or longer in his career, and his eighth this season.

*Spiller now has 6702 all-purpose running yards which moved him ahead of Reggie Bush on the all-time NCAA list.
Umm yeah, well that’s what CJ does…..Clemson fans are so jaded and will sound like old crotchety men after CJ leaves with their “remember when CJ did….., yeah those were the glory days”

Along with those notes, the following also has to be noted:

CJ Spiller and Jacoby Ford, as a tandem, have attained the highest all purpose yards….. in college football….of all time. Wow…we got to watch that.

DeAndre McDaniel, I believe, is now leading the nation in picks after last nights dismantling of the FSU passing offense. 4 picks were had overall by the Tigers.

So, the Tigers get a solid win but at what cost?

- What is wrong with CJ and is it minor? He looked like he was in pain most of the second half, not exhausted. He also was not hitting the tackles but avoiding them, which is fine as Clemson was winning, but I have never seen CJ do that before.

- Both of Clemson’s top cornerbacks, Butler and Chancellor went off the field with sustained injuries.

Ha, ESPN has the ACC listed as the “Wheel of Death”. That’s how messed up this conference is.

Chancellor went out with a lower leg strain. Don’t know what happened to Butler.
Keep in mind we also beat FSU without Bowers. That’s pretty good football right there. 4th quarter was murder on the noles

I agree, I was glad to see the depth that the Tigers have developed and were able to fill in without missing a beat. I was just saying that they were dropping like flies out there for a while! Hope they are ready to go against another high flying NC State offense next week.
