Are we becoming one of “those” kinds of schools?

There’s going to be a global warming rally? Well let me fire up the Suburban and get my ass down there.

A rally in Clemson Saturday will be one of hundreds across the nation aimed at raising awareness of global warming and urging that political leaders take action to curb it.

Raising awareness? Of global warming? Why I’ve never heard of it. Have any of you? What is this “global warming” of which they speak, anyway.

The goal is to focus attention on the issue and support legislation reducing the emissions of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere by 80 percent by 2050.

So the goal isn’t to convince or persuade people to reduce, over the next 46 years, their personal carbon emissions by 80%. They want government legislation to make us do it. Just peachy.

The nationwide effort is being pushed by the left-leaning MoveOn.org

Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.

Don’t worry, there will be a few gnomes around town to throw beer bottles at the hippies this weekend. And someone let me know if India and China are having similar movements ’cause I know that America is responsible for ALL the pollution in the world but ya know sometimes it would be nice if the ones who are developing with crap procedures would take some responsibility. Kyoto my ass.

As anti-hippie as I am and as much as I hate stupid rallies like these, I don’t agree with your argument. The Chinese and Indians aren’t holding such rallies because 1) they aren’t responsible for 25% of the carbon emissions in the world, 2) per capita, they aren’t using nearly as much (the average American emits 6 times more than the average Chinese and 16 times more than the average Indian), and 3) they aren’t rich enough to develop their industry/economy without it. But beyond that point, just because China and India doesn’t do something isn’t a reason for the US not to do it either, we are better than them are we not? That said, I can’t stand the way these damn hippies and politicians are going about with all this crap either.

All good points, must I remind all of you that Clemson’s India student population is responsible for Sanjia? Can we rally against that?

What am I saying?

Try this website to see one of the main reasons why the croaker Sanjaya is doing so well on American Idol.
