Win some games over good teams, idiotically lose some to the basement dwellers.

The great think about basketball is the number of games. A team can afford to lose focus, and then, learn from its mistakes. How do you feel now after the Maryland victory?
Only slightly better.
I’m now much less worried about how we rebound from a loss. I am much more worried about how we behave after a strong win.
We’re 7-4 in conference, which isn’t bad. It’s good. It’s not great. And 2 of the losses were just ridiculous. There was the loss to FSU at home where a 19 point lead was squandered. And there was the loss over the weekend to the worst (or at least 2nd worst) team in the conference. Without the nonsense, the team would be 9-2 and tied with UNC — yes THAT UNC — for the ACC lead. Instead there’s a cluster of 5 teams with four losses.
After the ‘Bama game, I considered the remaining games to be the important part of the season, the “real” part of the season, the part of the season upon which the team should ultimately be judged. Since that time they’re 6-4. 6-4 just ain’t that exciting.
