Credit To Dabo

In recent days Dabo announced that Sammy Watkins would sit for the first two games due to his drug bust. My impression prior to the announcement was that Watkins’ suspension would be less than a game. Less than a game, in my mind, would have been a meaningless slap on the wrist. It would have reminded me of the Elder Bowden’s moral flexibility when it came to punishing players who might be needed in big games. I’m glad that Dabo decided to impose a meaningful penalty on a star player for (at least) a(n) important game. I think it sends a clear message to the players about how to behave so as not to let the team down.
