Tremaine Billie will take his redshirt this season as reported by CUTigers.com. Billie who broke his ankle in the final summer practice said that he would base his redshirt decision on how he performed on his ankle the week after removal of the cast. Coach Bowden was really trying to get Tremaine to take his redshirt as the defensive back 3 have solidified their positions with Antonio Clay leading the way at Mike LB and the younger guys stepping up as well. Tremaine will take a redshirt and return next season to a LB corp that, within a year, may rival what could have been this years LB corp when Billie and Waters were still in the lineup. I am very excited that a talented athlete like Tremaine did not rush his decision and attempt to play at 80% when he knew what he was capable of at 100%. This is great news for the Tigers for next season as they will be young across the board. After Gaines Adams and Coleman depart Billie will surely become a leader on Defense.
