With an ACC championship, not going to a bowl game the first year would be overlooked, but I do not think that is plausible. Imagine a scenario where the team misses a bowl this year but then wins the ACC in '10 and '11. I don't think you'd want to fire him, nor would I think the Tardnetters would be calling for his head.
