nothing about the bowl game.
interesting. the silence is deafening!
As you can tell, we’ve been really amped up for the last 2 months, especially the bowl. Didn’t you notice all our bad ass pre-bowl coverage?
I guess we do need an equal amount of post-bowl coverage. So here it is: we lost. Most of the key players played badly. It sucked to watch.
I was waiting for Walker as he was there. Basically:
Cullen forgot what he had been doing all along and fell apart in his accuracy.
CJ had more spark than James but I was still screaming “run UP the field” most of the night.
Defense couldn’t pick up a screen to save their lives.
Offense should have figured it out when in the first quarter, Auburns defense was picking up the screens before the ball was even hiked.
Both teams played rather poorly in my view and it was lucky that it stayed close. Auburn has a heck of a QB in Burns, should be interesting watching him develop in the new Auburn O.
What I found most interesting is how, after all the info that Harper was every bit as good as Ryan at BC (maybe better), he lead the team to another losss in a big, close game. AT the end of the first quarter I told my Clemson daughter that this was going to be a close loss, Harper plays well from when they get all over the other team and rush to a lead.
If the game is close he just doesn’t get it done. Based on Bowden’s last few seasons I’m guessing we will see nothing but Harper next year too, so more losses in close games. Then he leaves and takes Davis with him.
On a related note, I saw the UnderArmor High School game. Lots of chat about how great the new guys are, including a running back that they kept comparing to CJ … funny thing, he knows how the field is layed out and which way “north/south” is.
wait. Running backs are supposed to run north and south? odd…
All I have to say about the bowl game is why didn’t Tommy try anything with 1 minute to go in regulation. At least one deep pass to show everybody we have some cahones!! I know it’s “safe” to take a knee and go to overtime, but look what happened! What ever happened to “Finish the Job”?!
