Inspiring Movie Moments
This weekend’s thrashing of the Terps (fear the turtle!) at the hands of Virginia (fear the queers on horses!) certainly makes Clemson’s home loss to Maryland all the more painful. Despite the pain, however, it actually represents something of an opportunity.
Bowden always seems to be the best with his back pressed firmly against the wall, and this situation certainly applies.
The ACC is as wide-open as ever, and if the Tigers can get their act together, the Maryland loss won’t even sting, given the Terps’ ugly defeat at Virginia which pulled them immediately back to the Atlantic Division pack.
Clemson has six ACC games left, and if it can run the table (or something close), a trip to Tampa the first weekend of December remains a real possibility.
Greg Wallace is correct.
Before you start to think that I’m regaining optimism, know that I’m reminded of Major League II.

This team has no marbles and everyone outside the program knows it. The question, then, is do they have Taka Tanaka?

If this is what it takes to get the team up and motivated I would rather not have to deal with the demoralizing loss just for the hope of winning out. This “back against the wall” technique is old.
