Last 4 games
In the last 10 days, the basketball team has split a set of 4 games. That leaves the team 2-1 in conference while it leaves everyone else wondering how they hell they managed to lose to Charlotte.
In brief summary:
1/6 - UNC - L, 90-88 (OT): stupid fucking overtime
1/9 - Charlotte - L, 82-72: ???
1/12 - FSU - W, 97-85 (2OT): sweet! I love overtime!
1/15 - NCSU - W, 70-54: at least we beat one team from North Carolina
In FT % summary:
UNC - 14/27 = 51.9%
Charlotte - 18/26 = 69.2%
FSU - 14/22 = 63.6%
NCSU - 6/12 = 50%
Next: Duke, in Durham, Saturday at 6PM, with cheating clock operators, and what I predict will be a 16/30 = 53.3 % free-throw shooting performance from Clemson.
No way we get 30 FTs. Maybe half that many with the biased refs.
Clemson’s sheer will, talent, and OP’s gameplan keep it close most of the game, Duke’s cheating refs, cheating coach, cheating, flopping players, and cheating clock operators pull away in the end for a close win
Don’t agree with the Duke cheating coach or cheating in general. Whole heartedly agree that they get extra special ref treatment in conference and especially at home. They are good at the flop on a charge. Part of that goes back to the ref comment, the rest is actually good coaching. Solid fundamentals wins close games, period. This leads me to the free throws. Duke sends us to the line for 20 plus shots in the second half, preferring to make us hit from the line as opposed to the easy ones underneath. They pull away in the last 6 minutes of regulation due to our ineptitude at the line. Look for our FT accuracy to be about 53%. Keeping things close against #1 and #5 doesn’t get wins for the selection committee but does wonders for confidence and the roseyness in which we are veiwed in March, especially if we hang on the road.
Did y’all hear about James Davis coming back!!!! Now all we need to do is beat Duke today and all will be good again for Clemson Athletics!!!!

I wish I could say drunk and passed out in a gutter. But the reality is that I, at least, am busy making money for the man (and increasing my bonus).

This made complete sense when read at hte time of the events. Charlotte was terrible at the time. Everyone was pretty much asking how the hell we managed to lose and the comments pretty much covered that issue.
I’m pretty sure that comment above was just spam, where “Chiz” just copied some small amount of the original post and surrounded it with general but useless text.
