New recruits

Bowden landed a bunch of verbal commitments this weekend.

They were defensive end Andre Branch (6-foot-5, 240 pounds) of Richmond, Va., wide receiver Brandon Clear (6-5, 210) of Hoover, Ala., linebacker Brandon Maye of Mobile, Ala., defensive end Miguel Chavis (6-5, 260) of Hargrave (Va.) Prep and Fayetteville, N.C., and defensive end Byron Clear (6-6, 220) of Hoover, Ala.

Here’s a question. Is that Hoover as in that MTV reality show Hoover? Walker, you on top of this one?

There are now two large high schools in the Hoover, AL area but this is the same place as MTV show. You are correct.

The two high schools in Birmingham Alabama are Hoover High and the newer of the two, which split from Hoover High, is Spain Park. The two schools are massive, I’ve seen them. This IS the Hoover shown in the MTV show “Two a Days”. I would like to thank the future Mrs. Walker for the background work here. A few of you may know…she is a Hoover High School graduate.
