That was the last time that Clemson scored a Touchdown in Bobby Dodd Stadium. It won’t be until 2009 for the Tigers to try that again.

My only post in reaction to the Georgia Tech game:

I hope that this is the one and only motivator that the Tigers need this year. And along with the revenge factor from last year, now Virginia Tech has to deal with a team that is not only pissed but is about to get royally reamed by the coaching staff this week.

What a piss poor game, thank GOD the Defense decided to play as best as they could with what they were given. And I don’t want to hear anything about Buchholz as he missed a bunch of kicks but wasn’t exactly given the best opportunities to perform. This game was all on the Offense. What now Spence?

I put this on coaching, not just offense. There is no way you allow a kicker who is doing his best Jad Dean (2006 version) impression to attempt so many long distance field goals!

Why was Harper not tossing the ball out of bounds instead of taking those sacks? I saw so many times where he could have tossed the ball away instead of attempting to get a concussion

Where was the O-line? Why was the Tech D always on Clemson’s side of the ball? Where were the screens that Spence is known for?

Why does it seem that there is always one punting meltdown in every game? What does Andre Powell have to say about that?

What does Dabo Swinney have to say about all those drops by the recievers?

Virtually every 2nd and 3rd down was a long one. The Tech recievers were not catching much, why was the D giving them so much respect instead of concentrating on Choice? Bennett was not setting the stadium alight with his passing…

This team was thoroughly underprepared. This team, except for the D, had no heart, it had no clue.

The Offense gave Jon Tenuta waaaaay too much respect long before the team got onto the bus.

This better not be an indication of future performances.

I gotta agree. This was coaching. The personal foul was completely bowden’s fault. There is no excuse for doing something like that. I hope the kid had to carry the bus home tonight.
Is this the second time that the running game was going pretty well (at least davis was) and spence decided to throw it? Reminds me of the Music City bowl. Geesh.

Special teams is a problem. OLine is a problem. The team wasn’t prepared and looked out of it from the first whistle. Tech knew they had the game when they prevented a TD after the fumble. If the tigers had gotten 7, Tech would ahve folded.

They clearly wanted it. Clemson did not. And that’s classic Bowden. Unprepared. Relying too much on “senior leadership.”

I expect more of the same next week. The BC game is now in the MUST WIN column.

Here we go again, favored to win the game on national television and once again we look like crap, I don’t know what Bowden is thinking. I know lets pass the ball to set up the run, well that worked so good. I have to agree with the prior comments this team did not look like it was prepared. Clemson has the talent to beat any one but for some reason they can’t get over the hump. Eventually all the recruiting in the world won’t help this team unless they show they can win as a program and dominate teams they should. As far as VT next week, Clemson will win by 20 because they will be the underdogs it does not make cense, but in Bowden’s tenure not much does. Bowden will go 9-3 this year and keep his job but at some point and time we need to find that coach to put Clemson into the BCS hunt.

Actually it wasn’t on national television. So it was only regionally embarrassing.

The upsets ahead of us in the polls will keep the media blitz outside of SC off Bowden. It will keep the comments to a min regarding the typical slip that we unfortunately encounter yearly. Was it reasonable to expect us to be a top 10 team and 5-0 at this point? Probably not but it was definetly feasible. I think the worst thing to happen to this team was the anouncement of the night game in the Valley vs VT this weekend. I think it’s safe to say the coaches can preach “One game at a time” and “Finish the job” but until they prepare the team and keep their heads in it accordingly, these are nothing but cool tag phrases for the fans and media and not fully engrained in the team.
