Terps reveal the NES love
I am not sure if you caught the Tiger ballers only loss of the season on Saturday but if you did, did you happen to listen to any of the background noise? Especially the Maryland Terp pep band? As I sat and listened to Pete Yannity talk over a break in the action I heard the distinct melody of a certain NES game. That game? Legend of Zelda. My mind had to shuffle through the jukebox of songs in it’s memory and finally came to an awkward realization that a pep band…….in 2006……was playing a theme song from a arcade system that was created in 1980something. Yeah…..I’m a geek for even realizing that.
As for the chants of “Overrated” by the Terp fans, well I think that is pretty cool that the Clemson team has established themselves to a point where they can get that type of respect. Of course I may be looking at that all wrong.

Maryland played extremely well and the Tigers were playing Maryland’s kind of game.
Overrated? I can’t remember any commentary that said Clemson was the “real deal” and/or “the bestest team ever.” All that has been said over the past few days is that we were the last undefeated team in Div 1. Nothing more. Glad the Terp fans got something to make them feel better, especially after that “uncharacteristic” loss to Miami. By the way, we’re 17-1 not 15-3.
There were plenty of people in the media at large who said, at least, Clemson was “for real.”
On the other hand, those damn, stinking Terps should have avoided the overrated thing, seeing as they had just had their asses kicked by a pretty bad Miami team a few days earlier.
“Fear the Turtle” is the worst school motto EVER. There’s my two cents worth, that is all.
I heard the overrate chants from the Maryland fans and thought to myself, “Are we really overrated at being ranked #17 as the only unbeaten school and as a member of the ACC.” I’m not saying we should have been ranked any higher, but we certainly are not overrated. Not that I really care what Maryland thinks about us. Anytime the home team beats a higher ranked they are going to chant overrated. What they should really being chanting is “we are better than you today and today only, who knows who will win the next game between the two us”, but then I guess that would sound kind of stupid as a crowd cheer.
We lost by 5, at maryland, in a game where Maryland shot lights out! OF course sometimes on defense we gave them cheap baskets but still, i’m not too disappointed. We new it was going to happen sometime. Up next, UNC….
