This just in….

The roaming gnome reporter has reported the Spiller will be out this Saturday with a hamstring injury. So will JD shoulder the entire load or will Jamie Harper and Andre Ellington start their training against one of the better D’s in the ACC?

I say we should spread the love. Dabo and Napier should playcall like the finale of Varsity Blues, i.e. let the players call the plays. Let them go out there and have fun, show Paul Johnson that while he might have the option offense, we have more options on offense.

Did that make sense? I should stop drinking now for the rest of the day…

Any idea what offense we will run? I thought I heard Dabo mention that Korn will run some type of an option scheme.

If that’s the case, I would play JD with power support from JHarper, and speed from Ford. Would love to see Willie roll-out of the pocket and pitch to Ford.

Hell, what do I know. I still get excited thinking about Rodney and the triple option…

no news on the offensive scheme yet, just a lot of hullaballoo about the 3 point stance that has been instituted. That and Dabo wanting to hit first and hit hard. All “words” right now so we will have to wait to see them materialize.

OK, from the roaming gnome reporter…..sources say that Clemson will be going “spread em out shotgun and run it at em” formation”. With the abilities of Korn to scramble and the receiving threats that deserve defensive respect, defenses should come right along with the plan.

OK, cool. Agree with your analysis – should be fun to watch on Saturday.

Please inquire with the roaming gnome reporter to when we will return to pony athletic shoes and bike coaching shorts.

so basically they will be running a watered down Rich Rod offense? Spread out the D – make them put 6+ db’s on the field and then run it right up the middle – if the D gets smart and puts in LB’s to challenge – throw it over their head. Should be interesting – remember, they will have only had 4 days to prepare in this “new” offense…

Did I mention that Rich Rod’s name is somehow popping up on radars?! No way that happens in my mind, he gets a 4 year pass in Ann Arbor, but still very interesting.

We’re not running an option offense. The context is missing, and the statement was poorly worded to begin with. In reference to facing several firsts on Saturday, Dabo said “we’re going to play an option offense for the first time too” (i.e. we’re going to play AGAINST an option offense for the first time).
