VT Weekend Weather

VT Weather Map

This week’s weather is brought to you by the letters W, T, and F. As in WTF is going to happen this week with the weather? It’s gonna be a crap shoot people. My conglomerate of sources has come to one conclusion; at some point, it may rain tomorrow. Scattered showers are projected and clouds are blanketing the southeast in general as far west as Memphis (meaning they all won’t be cleared out until later tomorrow evening). Temps should range from the upper 60’s for those hitting the tailgate fields early to as hot as 82 or so around 4 or 5 PM. This, of course, assumes it hasn’t rained, in which case it could be a cool 75 immediately after or a very sticky 80 an hour or two after or just prior to the rain. Either way, it’s still seasonably pleasant if not a little on the warm side for this time of year, but not by more than about 5 degrees on the day time high. Keep a ball cap and maybe a light pull over handy though in case a shower blows through, especially for those ladies out there. It doesn’t bother the men so much but we know how much you care about the hair. If you are trying to dodge the showers, a later arrival may be more your speed but I will never encourage this. If you are a real fan, and dare I say, have a real tailgate, it won’t matter. Lows the next two nights with be in the mid 60’s with rain Friday night at some point, guaranteed and only the occasional cloud still pushing through after the half tomorrow night.
On the field, I see the same crap shoot prediction. If the Tiger’s from last week’s game show up, it could be more of the same. If it’s the team that showed for the other home night game this year, then expect to see a little revenge turned around after the dismantling in Blacksburg. Keeping our D off the field, being SMART of special teams, and putting O-line pads on their ends and OLB’s will be the key to the game. The field should be drained well and a fast surface for our speed guys should be present even with the passing showers the end of this week.

If I read correctly, and that’s kinda hard with all the crap flying around the intertubes these days, the Tigers did manage a practice or so in wet conditions. If that is the case, using the rain as a possible excuse in the event of a loss will be unacceptable. Call me cynical, but yeah, I think we could possibly lose this game, after all the Tigers have been schizo for years now. Looking for a win though…
