Willie Simmons comes back to Clemson
From Tigernet:
Former Clemson quarterback Willie Simmons has joined Tommy Bowden’s staff as a video graduate assistant for the offense. He replaces Richie Wessman, who resigned in July to take a position with the Tennessee Titans of the NFL.
This is definitely a name I didn’t expect to see back around campus. Ever.
Willie got his marketing degree from Clemson in 2002. That year was his year to be the starting quarterback for the Tigers. By the end of the season he had been replaced by the younger Charlie Whitehurst. In the early part of that year, he also had a run-in with the campus parking police. By 2003 he was playing for the Citadel. I had been under the impression that both sides were glad to be rid of the other. I blame my lack of insider information.
Willie, welcome back. Hopefully things work out for everyone. And watch where you park.
